Introducing the COCLA (No. 3180) — a compact, precise geological compass for measuring strata and linear features using the Prof. Dr. Clar method. Its dual-circle design and vertical graduation on the cover hinge allow simultaneous measurement of dip azimuth and dip angle in a single operation, quickly and reliably.
The transparent extruded acrylic glass base with circular level and hinged mirror underneath makes overhead or below-head measurements simple. The eddy current damping system ensures stable readings in only 3 seconds, significantly faster than conventional compasses — ideal for saving time in the field.
The permanent locking lever can be operated laterally, perfect for inserting the compass into narrow rock joints. The COCLA also includes ±30° declination adjustment, a sighting device for rapid coarse aimings, and deeply etched figures and graduations on the tracing edge and vertical scale made of hardened aluminium alloy.
This compass does not include a carrying case.
